Senior Project Engineer
Job Summary
The Project Engineer will manage engineering projects from conception, design, procurement, installation, project cost, and commissioning to include review of project performance with plant operations and maintenance personnel. Duties will include construction management, scheduling, managing contractors, and safety. Projects will include multiple disciplines as dictated by the individual scope of work.

Compensation
$105,000.00-$130,000.00 annually | DOE
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation and implementation of the capital budget including justifications, conceptual design, estimating, project definition, scope of project, etc.
- Manage assigned projects including concept design, sketches or draws layouts, and general arrangements
- Supervise and check detailing, research and specify equipment and components, write specifications/contracts/requisitions, solicit bids and make recommendations to Purchasing; supervise and coordinate installation and/or start-up
- Instruct personnel on operation and maintenance of new equipment, set up files including spare part recommendations, and control budgeted expenditures
- Review design calculation and drawings generated by engineering firms, consultants and/or contractors for compliance with company standards and other regulations and laws
- Provide design calculations and drawings for projects that are engineered within the department and/or plant
- Support local plant in technical matters as assigned, including equipment troubleshooting, critical path scheduling, material/equipment selections and mathematical calculations, etc.
- Support environmental department with permit applications and engineering documents
- Daily interaction with department and plant personnel for project development
- Write technical reports as required
- Maintain department files for reference
- Perform any special assignments or duties as directed
- Implement regulations as required, including OSHA, MSHA, UPC, UBC, NFPA, NEC, and others
Education
Bachelor's of Science Degree in Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
Requirements/Qualifications
- AutoCAD Earthwork proficient: draw plans, prepare plans, give presentations, volume takeoffs, cut and fill analysis
- Must be an effective leader and strong communicator
- Excellent problem solving, planning, and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Preferred:
- GPS proficiency
- Primavera P6 scheduling proficiency
- Working knowledge in SAP
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
