Plant Maintenance
Job Summary
Plant Maintenance is responsible for the safe repair and maintenance of ready-mix operations to include plant machinery, material screws, conveyors, pumps, dust collectors, bins, silos, hoppers and reclaimers. This individual is expected to complete pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections, submit required daily documentation, and assist in plant operations as needed.

Compensation
$31.20-$39.00 per hour/ DOE
Responsibilities
- Perform safety/mechanical inspections of the plant and equipment
- Address any housekeeping issues within the work area
- Proper use of company provided and/or own tools to complete repair and maintenance tasks
- Able to use welder and cutting torches to repair and maintain plant equipment
- Understand all CalPortland policies and procedures
- Understand and comply with OSHA rules and regulations
- Good attendance and punctuality are a must
- Able to work irregular and extended hours and weekends to complete maintenance, repairs within the facility
- Proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) always
Education
High School Diploma/GED
Requirements/Qualifications
- Familiarity with construction materials – sand, gravel, concrete, etc.
- Ability to operate mobile equipment to include front end loaders, skid steer, backhoe, water truck and forklift.
- Have experience or other experiences including welding, fabricating, belt splicing, and/or familiarity working around screens and sand screws, etc.
- Knowledge of various ready-mix plant equipment including hoppers, feeders, conveyors, screens, silos, and reclaimers
- Familiarity with OSHA safety rules and regulations
- Ability to use various hand tools and equipment as necessary
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather (heat, cold, rain) for shifts up to 12 hours in length
- Able to lift 50 pounds frequently, up to 100 pounds occasionally, climb stairs/ladders, and walk on uneven or rough terrain
- Punctual and reliable, with adequate means of transportation to arrive at work when scheduled
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
