Job Summary

The Warehouse Person is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing all operating and maintenance supplies and materials, shipping equipment that leaves the plant premises, data input of purchase orders, processing of invoices, and maintaining an orderly and organized storeroom.

Compensation

Responsibilities

  • Receives, stocks, issues and inspects incoming materials, verifying with purchase orders to assure that material is as ordered and notifies Purchasing in the event of any discrepancies
  • Assist in taking physical inventory of stock, filing, typing, and other accounting duties; maintains procedure ensuring inventory reports and records of storeroom items
  • Package and ship material for shipments from the plant and maintains related files
  • Assists the Storekeeper in applying and operating the data processing system in the storeroom
  • Keeps work area clean and organized
  • Maintain MSR files to ensure that credits are received from vendors
  • Supports various functional areas within the plant, such as Maintenance, Accounts Payable, and Purchasing
  • Perform accounts payable duties
  • Operate forklift

Education

High school diploma/GED

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Cement plant equipment knowledge, including knowledge of warehouse storage and location systems
  • Knowledge of material handling systems and equipment
  • Experience using purchasing and inventory record-keeping systems (SAP)
  • Strong bookkeeping, clerical, and computer skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively; strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to lift large and heavy loads safely, and be physically able to access all plant areas and equipment
  • Must be able to identify a variety of industrial equipment, parts, and supplies
  • Positive attitude with a strong sense of self-motivation, accountability, and responsibility

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
