The Maintenance Engineer participates in maintenance planning, reliability improvement and other maintenance and repair functions of a plant.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for machinery reliability improvement and engineering
- Assists with maintenance planning, daily and yearly outages and predictive maintenance
- Manages spare parts
- Plans, coordinates and schedules work required
- Supervises contractors and orders materials to ensure efficiency and success
- Assists with capital budget and maintenance projects
- Provides guidance to the mechanical maintenance personnel in the repair, maintenance and installation functions
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Requirements/Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of the principles of predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance
- Strong communication, organization, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Physical requirements: standing, stooping, walking on various surfaces and terrains, climbing up to 380 feet, lifting up to 70 lbs., walking long distances, ability to see and hear safety indicators and warnings
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions: heat, cold, wet, dry and/or dusty conditions and near hot kiln process
- Will have exposure to all levels of noise that require use of hearing protection
- Exposure to cement, clay, limestone and various lab chemicals; see MSDS for more details
- Ability to work in surroundings that include heat, dust, vibration, heights and confined spaces
Preferred:
- Experience in project work in a manufacturing environment, preferably a cement plant
- Experience with ERP system, preferably SAP
