Compensation

$75,000 to $85,000 Depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for design, cost estimating, materials ordering, and construction of capital budget and plant projects as assigned 
  • Work with other department members on the development and revision of plant electrical and construction specifications
  • Perform calculations for load calculations, voltage drop, arc flash, protective relay settings, etc. in the plant and quarry
  • Aid the Plant Engineer in the preparation of the Capital Budget package
  • Provide engineering services to other plant departments and support to Corporate Engineering Services as assigned or requested; supports plant with technical advice and with diagnosing and correcting electrical problems when required
  • Responsible for the analysis and design of electrical and control systems required for plant operations, including the plant computer and communication systems
  • Maintain contemporaneous records of: 
    • Short circuit relay protection coordination
    • Substation loading, capacity, power factor, and demand
    • Plant electrical and instrumentation drawings 
    • Plant power consumption and departmental distribution 
  • Lead, coach, and support electrical maintenance efforts
  • Manages and directs contractors to perform work on-site
  • Provides technical and safety training including arc flash safety and best practices for plant electricians
  • Performs field inspections, measurements, and data gathering as required
  • Work as a member of the Energy Team to identify improvements and participate in energy audits

Education


Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
 

Requirements/Qualifications


Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Travel to training and other company facilities, as needed
Self-starter and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to work at heights and in restricted spaces
Must be able to climb ladders and stairs in an industrial environment to access/inspect equipment
Must be prepared to spend time gathering data, work on projects and provide plant electrical assistance
Knowledge of SAP and AutoCAD is preferred

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
