Aggregate Sales Representative
Job Summary
The Sales Representative is responsible for building and servicing a customer base to maximize profits on the sales of construction aggregates. This position resolves customer issues relating to materials or trucking to ensure customer satisfaction and deliver high-quality products. The Sales Representative is also responsible for projecting sales and analyzing trends to manage product inventory.

Responsibilities
- Builds strong and lasting business relationships with prospective and existing customers
- Resolves basic customer product and technical problems
- Forecasts sales and communicates with operations to ensure the availability of inventory in the retail yard
- Identifies and understands the competitive landscape
- Assists the credit department in collections and establishing operating budgets
- Follows, tracks and understands national and local economic trends and developments that impact the local aggregates market
- Involvement in trade associations, area chambers and state and local meetings to ensure CalPortland’s presence in the communities we serve
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience
Requirements/Qualifications
- Experience within construction materials or related industry
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and during face-to-face interactions
- Strong organizational, time management and self-motivation skills
- Ability to identify areas of improvement and implement more efficient processes
- Must be able to travel locally on a regular basis
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and other software packages relevant to the position
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
