Talent Development Manager

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Talent Management, the Talent Development Manager designs, develops, and delivers corporate-wide comprehensive curricula and programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of our employees across various departments and levels within the organization and improve leadership competencies. The manager also designs and implements customized solutions to meet business operating units’ development and organizational effectiveness needs.

Compensation

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop engaging training programs and materials that meet the organization's needs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess training needs and implement tailored solutions
  • Deliver training sessions using various methods, including in-person workshops, e-learning platforms, and virtual classrooms
  • Manage learning management systems to track employee progress and program effectiveness
  • Support organizational change initiatives through effective communication and training strategies
  • Mentor employees to foster professional growth and development within the organization
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends in human capital management and learning technologies  
  • Responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating comprehensive, corporate-wide development systems, processes, and programs to improve leadership competencies 
  • Negotiates with and manages outside vendors to ensure delivery of learning materials, programs, systems, and other resources
  • Provide coaching to front-line and mid-level leaders as appropriate

Education

Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, organizational psychology, industrial psychology, organizational behavior, communications, or human resources preferred

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in training and development, organizational development, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of leadership experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Proven facilitation skills, with certification in one or more supervisory systems preferred
  • Instructional design certificate preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to oversee the implementation of software and supporting technology tools
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization, including C-Suite executives
  • Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects at one time, and rapidly change priorities based on business needs
  • Experience in a construction, manufacturing, transportation, logistics, or related industrial business a plus
  • Experience in developing and delivering training materials and aids 
  • Instructional design certificate preferred
  • 15-20% required travel

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing.
