Reporting and Analytics Lead

Job Summary

The Reporting & Analytics Lead manages the Reporting team’s work, working under the Business Process & Analytics Manager within the Information Technology Department, with the main role to support the company’s business processes with advanced dashboards, reports, and other data analysis tools. Leveraging different reporting tools, this role is responsible to lead the maintenance and development of advanced analytics, high-quality visualizations, dashboards, and reports to present complex data insights to our stakeholders. As the Reporting Lead, this employee will work closely with our Business Analysts and with other key stakeholders from within the company to assist with identifying business needs and opportunities for data analytics insights; will conduct analytics that identify capabilities available to us and how they would enhance our current data analysis efforts, will assess our current reports, data sources and make enhancements recommendations. This role will be a critical resource for our future project to migrate our legacy reports into more up-to-date analytical tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement reports and dashboards that transform raw data into meaningful information 
  • Manage/coordinate day-to-day activities concerning business needs on reports and dashboards
  • Use technical expertise, improve reporting systems and processes, and enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with different teams within IT and other business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and translate them into technical requirements
  • Plan, design, build, and document comprehensive technical specifications ensuring a clear roadmap for development and implementation
  • Lead and mentor the Reporting Team, providing resources, guidance, and support to ensure the team's success
  • Collaborate and assist the IT Technical team with the management of data sources; ensure data quality, and optimize the data retrieval processes
  • Ensure compliance with JSOX processes and assist with audit requests    
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in BI and data analytics
  • Define processes and standard procedures, and manage the maintenance of reporting catalogs and technical documentation

Education

Bachelor's degree required

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a reporting/analytical expert with a minimum of 2 years as team lead
  • Proficient in designing and creating data visualizations and reports using different tools
  • Proficient SQL skills for data pulling and manipulation; ability to work with complex data sets
  • Strong data analytical skills to interpret complex data and transform it into insightful reports and dashboards
  • Strong understanding of data analysis and data modeling, warehouse design
  • Proven experience in managing a team’s work and deliverables, with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new tools
  • Flexible attitude with an ability to work well in changing situations and reprioritize work accordingly

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing.
