Job Summary

The Reporting Writer is a member of the Reporting team within the Information Technology Department, with the main role of supporting the company’s business processes with advanced reporting, dashboards, and other data analysis tools. Leveraging different reporting tools, this role is responsible in designing, developing, and maintaining analytics, high-quality visualizations, dashboards, and reports. They will present complex data insights to our stakeholders and will provide input on data flow between different applications and solutions utilized by the company. This position works closely with our team’s Business Analysts and Data Architects & Developers to identify requirements, develop technical solutions, and provide technical and data analysis expertise to ensure the success of our data analytics initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Advanced reporting
  • Perform data analysis and profiling to identify data quality issues, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Daily reporting troubleshooting 
  • Assists with Audit requests
  • Assists in defining processes, standard operating procedures, catalogs, and technical documentation
  • Stays up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in BI and data analytics
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data warehouse and data mart models required; will work closely with different IT team members; participate in universes and data warehouse data model designs and provide input and feedback from reports perspectives
  • Performs additional duties as required

Education

Bachelor’s degree required

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Must know coding to write and execute custom queries against our different systems and databases for data analysis, testing, and validation
  • Proficient in designing reports and dashboards using different visualization tools, SAP BI experience is a plus
  • Strong SQL skills for extracting and analyzing data
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, warehouse design
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with complex data sets
  • Ability to adapt to new technical products
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly organized self-starter with an eye for detail who can maintain multiple ongoing tasks 
  • Flexible attitude with the ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing.
