Marketing and Communications Manager

Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating the communications output within a company and at local operations. Creates and delivers emails, direct mail, brochures, newsletters, and other publications. Assists with the overall implementation of the corporate marketing and communications strategy centered around CalPortland’s core branding and messaging themes:

Responsibilities

  • Create marketing and promotional materials, both print and electronic
  • Work with advertisers for timely and useable ad submissions
  • Work with regional divisions to create new ads and marketing materials with effective messaging that aligns with company goals
  • Create, edit, proofread, and revise communications
  • Help create, design, and launch social media marketing campaigns
  • Recommend, implement, and help maintain website design and Google Ad optimization
  • Develop fresh story ideas for the company's internal site (CPConnect) and social media sites
  • Help create and deliver press releases, case studies, corporate newsletter content, social media content, and speaking proposals
  • Create PowerPoint slide decks and sales support
  • Maintain and update photo and video archives
  • Research media coverage and industry trends
  • Cultivate and integrate new ideas and campaigns that align with current and future sales goals
  • Collaborate on strategic direction for PR opportunities and media proposals
  • Increase overall brand awareness

Education

BA in Communications, Marketing, or equivalent

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years working in a marketing position or construction-related field
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative products- Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in social media marketing
  • Ability to travel as necessary 

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing.
