Shop and Yard Laborer

Job Summary

The Shop and Yard Laborer will perform a combination of duties involving general maintenance of a construction yard and heavy equipment shop.

Compensation

$21.00 - $23.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping of shop and construction yard
• Pick up and deliver parts
• Load trucks for construction projects
• Assist mechanics as needed
• Assist construction division as needed
• Perform duties in a safe and environmentally-conscious manner
• General labor duties such as shoveling and sweeping
• Other duties as directed by shop personnel or supervisor
• Must be able to lift 60 lbs regularly, bend, stoop, and stretch

Education

High school diploma/GED

Requirements/Qualifications

• Class C commercial driver's license with clean driving record.  A current DMV printout will be required
• Reliable attendance for varied work shifts including nights and weekends
• Must be able to work independently and within a team
• Ability to lift 60 lbs. frequently and climb ladders
• Ability to use various electric and air-powered hand tools

Preferred:

• Class A commercial driver's license 
• Working knowledge of heavy trucks and construction equipment

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
