Payroll Administrator - Prevailing Wage
Job Summary
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day payroll and time administration for our ready-mix, cement, construction division and prevailing wage hourly employees.

Compensation
$50,000 - $60,000 DOE
Responsibilities
- Process Certified Payroll
- Track time for Prevailing Wage hourly employees
- Follow-up with supervisors for Timekeeping approvals
- Generate weekly Certified Payroll reports and submit to appropriate agencies
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information in Hard Dollar
- Interpret complex contract documents, delivery methods, and agreements related to construction
- Analysis of certified payroll, prevailing wage, and apprenticeship documents to ensure compliance with governing laws and labor compliance programs
- Interact at all levels in the organization, maintaining positive and respectful relationships
- Review and organize information, materials, and details independently and effectively, identifying deficiencies and requesting additional information if needed; take appropriate actions
- Review and post invoices from materials dept.
- Review foreman reports and collect all necessary backup information for payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes
- Assist management and estimators with miscellaneous projects and assignments
- Cross-train for weekly payroll associate, InEight Hard Dollar timesheets
Education
High School Diploma and some college business course work required
Requirements/Qualifications
- 3 years of prior certified payroll processing experience
- Knowledge in State payroll rules and regulations for prevailing wage in California
- Working knowledge of MS Office, with proficiency in Outlook and Excel
- Accurate, efficient, and timely completion of all payroll deadlines and cut-off periods
- Excellent analytical and written and verbal communications skills
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Able to meet schedules and deadlines
Preferred:
- Previous experience with a large ERP system, preferably SAP
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, or closely related field; equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Experience with InEight Hard Dollar and Nice Touch
- Certified payroll/prevailing wage knowledge
- Bilingual
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing.
