Compensation
$42.70 - $44.80/hour
Responsibilities
- Pour and finish concrete
- Performs flatwork construction
- Constructs minor concrete structures
- Installs reinforcing rebar or mesh wire to strengthen the concrete
- Spreads, levels and smooths concrete using a trowel, float or screed
- Molds expansion joints and edges
- Monitors curing to ensure durable, smooth and uniform finish
- Applies sealants or waterproofing to protect concrete
- Other work related to heavy civil construction
Education
High school diploma/GED
Requirements/Qualifications
- Class C driver’s license
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Reliable attendance for varied work shifts, including nights
- Able to work in a safety-conscious manner
- Experience working in a heavy civil construction environment
- Physical requirements: bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Occasionally lifting 100 lbs.
Preferred:
- Class A commercial driver’s license
- Experience in traffic control
- Ability to establish finish grades from survey data
- Ability to complete Class 1 finish to structural concrete
- Bilingual
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
