Quality Control Field Supervisor

Job Summary

The Quality Control Supervisor will assist the Quality Manager with all field quality control activities for the Phoenix Region.   This will include managing Field Technicians, providing guidance and directing personnel.

  • Coordinate Field Technician's daily duties and schedule jobs to be covered by field personnel

  • Approve work hours for Field Technicians in payroll system

  • Perform sample preparation and standard quality tests on construction aggregates and cement concrete.

  • Perform Testing, to include gradation, sand equivalent, moisture content, slump, density, air content, cylinders, etc.

  • Troubleshoot job problems and handle job complaints

  • Coordinate work with other regional management personnel, i.e. Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Dispatch

  • Prepare reports and analysis

  • Work directly with customers, as may be necessary

  • Participate in Pre-job bidding preparation

  • Obtain and maintain all necessary ACI certifications

  • Obtain and maintain all necessary OSHA and MSHA training certifications


Degree in mining, civil or concrete management engineering preferred.


  • Work knowledge of concrete and aggregate testing.   Applicable ACI and ATTI Certifications.   Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Job requires the following motions:  climbing, bending, squatting, lifting, stretching, driving, riding, vibration, twisting, pushing/pulling of controls, and riding on rough terrain.

  • Lifting of up to 50 lbs (frequent) / 75 lbs (occasional)

  • Use of hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers

  • Overtime work plus possible night work may be required

  • Must be able to work cooperatively with others

  • Able to teach others

  • Good use of Microsoft Office tools, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Strong communication skills

  • Walk on all types of surfaces (uneven and/or slippery ground)

  • Must be able to use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required

  • Ability to see and hear safety indicators and warnings

  • Must work in all weather conditions: heat, cold, wet, dry and/or dusty conditions and near hot kiln process

  • Will have exposure to all levels of noise that require the use of hearing protection


  • ACI Certified Grade I Field Testing, Strength Testing and Flat work finishers  

  • Color Certification

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require on-going drug and alcohol testing (FMCSA regulated/safety sensitive.)
