Preventative Maintenance Lube Mechanic

Job Summary

The Preventative Maintenance Lube Mechanic will perform preventative and minor repair and restorative maintenance on bottom hoppers, mixers, 10-wheelers, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Service and perform minor repairs on gas and diesel heavy equipment.
  • Check and fill fluid levels, service lube points and perform routine preventative maintenance
  • Maintain service, repair, and maintenance records
  • Prepare work order and order parts in SAP software programs
  • Maintain positive relationships with plant personnel
  • Complete daily work assignments in a timely fashion
  • Perform tasks from verbal/written instructions and communicate effectively with supervisor and fellow employees
  • Keep work area clean and orderly
  • Follow and promote the CalPortland Culture, Policies and Procedures, including MSHA mine site regulations

Education

High School diploma/GED; trade schooling preferred

Requirements/Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience working in an industrial shop environment
  • Clean driving record and Class C driver’s license required
  • Reliable attendance
  • Must be able to work independently and with a team
  • Knowledge of industrial and shop safety rules and procedures
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for testing and troubleshooting before and after performing maintenance activities
  • Computer skills necessary - data entry of work orders and purchasing
  • Physical Requirements: must lift 60 pounds with regularity, bend, stoop and stretch

Preferred:

  • Welding experience
  • Experience working with VisionLink 
  • SAP experience
  • Mechanics Certifications
  • CAT SIS experience

Compensation

$18 - $22
