Plant Engineer
Job Summary
The Plant Engineer position will be responsible for fulfilling all duties in the Engineering department and duties as assigned, including, but not limited to budgeting, designing, constructing, implementing, and commissioning CAPEX projects, along with managing other members of the Oro Grande Engineering department.

Compensation
$120,000 - $140,000 annually
Responsibilities
• Supervise and direct the Engineering department in preparing plans, specifications and drawings for new equipment installations as well as modifications to existing plant equipment.
• Supervise contractors and/or plant staff in the execution of construction and equipment modification plans.
• Responsible for the administration and cost guidelines of the Capital Budget Program, including most vendor and contractor negotiations and the associated project management.
• Assume the primary role in the organization and presentation of the CAPEX budget including responsibility for the preparation of necessary paperwork, budget reporting, and evaluation of projects.
• Work closely with the Plant Superintendent, Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent, Quality Control Superintendent, Production Manager, and the Quarry Manager.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, such as Civil, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
Requirements/Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in plant engineering.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of cement plant operations, maintenance, and equipment selection.
• Must have supervisory experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
Cement, or related industry experience.
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA-regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
