The Maintenance Planner assists with the logistics of maintenance for the assigned plant, including the planning and completion of all maintenance work with other departments.

Compensation
$85,000 - $102,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Develop plant shutdown detailed plans and schedules and job packages.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Production, Stores and Purchasing departments to ensure the required parts for the repair and installation of equipment are available when needed.
- Plan and schedule periodic preventive maintenance inspections, repairs and installation of Plant equipment, buildings, and utilities.
- Maintain records, write job plans and compile reports as required.
- Train employees in the proper use of SAP.
- Maintain preventive maintenance files, data, work orders, equipment history, work schedules and prepare related reports.
- Assist in the development of equipment inspection procedures and routes.
- Attend daily maintenance schedule meetings. Keep informed on job priorities and work status changes.
- Notify Maintenance Superintendent of any discrepancies, problems, lack of parts, equipment or supplies that may cause delays in department work assignments.
- Track maintenance costs and assist Maintenance Superintendent with the development and tracking of maintenance budget.
- Provide assistance and back-up to others in the Maintenance department, including supervision of hourly workers.
- Interact with contractors on special projects and daily maintenance projects. Review contractor timesheets.
- Comply with and enforce all governmental and agency requirements, rules and regulations, company policies and plant work rules.
- Contribute to plant capital projects.
- Maintain backlog of work orders.
- Close out work orders “completed.”
- Create work orders and ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Create stock requests and maintain equipment BOM.
- Participate in the on-call weekend rotation.

Education
- High school diploma or GED.
- Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent years of experience in maintaining industrial equipment preferred.

Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum of five years experience in maintenance or planning departments for a large industrial manufacturer.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent planning and coordination skills.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Effective working with teams and interacting with other departments.
- Effectively provide leadership and direction to workforce.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
- Organizational skills.
- Ability to be proactive, work under pressure, multi-task and shift priorities as needed.
- Knowledge and experience in project management.
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience working with MSHA and OSHA regulations.
- Experience/training in root cause failure analysis.
- Familiarity with purchasing and service contracts.

Preferred:
- Cement manufacturing experience.
- Experience working in SAP.
- Three years experience creating gantt charts in MS Project.
- Experience/training in 5S workplace organization.

Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
