Associate Maintenance Engineer
Job Summary
The Associate Maintenance Engineer will support the Plant Maintenance function with specific mechanical engineering skills, under the direction of the Maintenance Superintendent.

Compensation
$60,000 - $90,000 annually DOE
Responsibilities
- Responsible for machinery reliability improvement and engineering
- Root cause failure analysis, predictive maintenance (oil and vibration analysis) and assist with maintenance planning - daily and yearly outages
- Spare parts management
- Plans, coordinates, and schedules work required, supervision of contractors, ordering materials to ensure efficiency and success
- Assists with capital budget and maintenance projects
- Provides guidance to the mechanical maintenance personnel in the repair, maintenance, and installations including daily process problem-solving and measurement activities that enable continuous plant operations
- Other duties as defined and directed
Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree
Requirements/Qualifications
- Must be able to be available for out of office phone calls and be at the plant site 40+ hours per week.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products - Outlook, Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of the principles of predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance
- Must be self-motivated and organized
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Able to multi-task with conflicting priorities
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a busy office environment which may include distractions, interruptions, and noise
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours)
- Walk on all types of surfaces (uneven and/or slippery ground)
- Climb stairs and ladders as high as 380 feet in elevation
- Physical ability to climb on equipment
- Must be able to lift and carry 70lbs. upstairs
- Must be able to use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required
- Must be able to walk long distances, climb ladders, stairs, and stockpiles, stoop, and crawl under and into enclosed spaces
- Ability to see and hear safety indicators and warnings
- Must work in all weather conditions: heat, cold, wet, dry and/or dusty conditions and near hot kiln process
- Will have exposure to all levels of noise that require the use of hearing protection
- Exposure to cement, clay, limestone and various lab chemicals; see MSDS for more details
- Ability to work in surroundings that include heat, dust, vibration, heights and confined spaces
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
