Accounting Manager
Job Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing all accounting activities for the corporation, which includes day-to-day accounting activities company-wide and managing the accounting staff.
Responsibilities
- Maintains detailed accounting records to support all payroll, pensions and benefits balances to ensure accuracy of financial statements
- Works collaboratively with payroll, benefits, and risk management departments to investigate and develop standard procedures for handling and reconciling transactions and accrual requirements, as well as preparing monthly analyses
- Works closely with the Financial Reporting Senior Accountant and assist with the month-end closing process
- Properly executes controls to ensure compliance with JSOX
- Prepares all accounting reports and records to support monthly, quarterly and annual reports
- Manages and provides direction to accounting staff members; provides strategic direction to field accounting representatives
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field
Requirements/Qualifications
- SAP experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of GAAP, FASB and IFRS reporting standards
- Demonstrated analytical skills, especially in complex reconciliation functions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word
