Ready Mix Sales Representative
Responsible for all sales activities including retention, target and development of customers. Facilitate company efforts to successfully take care of customers and resolve any customer concerns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customer's and potential customer's decision makers
- Develop and maintain a list of target and development customers and build strong relationships with them to meet new sales goals
- Accountable to attain new and retention sales volume goals
- In person interaction with customers; requires possible interaction at their offices and/or job sites, as necessary
- Understand customer needs and set expectations accordingly
- Provide timely and accurate documentation for mix design submittals to customers as needed
- Assist Dispatch in scheduling customer deliveries
- Maintain a high level of urgency to resolve any customer issues
- Track monthly volume forecasts for all customers
- Assist with customer collections
- Follow current trends in the national/local economy that may impact the local ready-mix market
- Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within their assigned area
- Provide timely reports, i.e., monthly activity reports and expense reports, etc.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team
- Attend industry-related events and participate in trade associations, Chambers of Commerce, and local economic development groups
- Share expertise and experience with other sales team members
College degree in business, marketing, engineering or a realted field preferred.
- Three to five years sales experience, preferably in a construction materials environment
- Prior experience with Microsoft business software
- Ability to work independently and set priorities to meet customer expectations and demands
- Ability to build and maintain relationships
- Ability to multi-task and problem-solve quickly
- Ability to interact with customers in social settings to better develop business relationships; including breakfast, lunch, dinner and other busines activities and related social events
- Strong oral and written communicatio skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Involved in professional/civic organizations in the community
- Must possess and maintain a current and valid Nevada Driver's License
- Must be insurable under company vehicle insurance program
- Must adhere to company drug and alcohol policy, to include random drug and alcohol screenings
Preferred:
- Experience in a vertically integrated construction materials organization
- Experience with Public Entities (state, county, city governments, etc.)
- Background in construction and/or manufacturing of construction products
- Familiar with CRM and customer contact databases
- Familiarity with ERP - SAP
