The Engineering Services Intern provides electrical engineering design and support throughout the company in the areas of power, controls, and instrumentation.

Compensation

$17.50/hr-$24.00/hr DOE 

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement electrical systems for plant additions and modifications at the manufacturing plants
  • Maintain the database of power systems studies
  • Create and modify drawings as needed for projects, plant improvements or in response to plant requests
  • Participate in cement plant outages
  • Assist and provide support on capital movement projects
  • Support control system applications
  • Provide field inspections, coordination, and supervision for electrical work on projects with guidance from senior department personnel
  • Work with the energy team to identify improvements and participates in energy audits
  • Supports plants by diagnosing and correcting electrical problems
  • Attend summer intern orientation event at corporate headquarters in Glendora, CA

Education

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good attendance and punctual
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Must possess valid driver's license, insurance and be insurable to drive company vehicles

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
