Compensation
$75,000-$95,000 DOE
Responsibilities
- Designs and implements electrical systems for plant additions and modifications at the manufacturing plants
- Provides technical training including Arc Flash safety and best practices to plant electricians and other technical personnel
- Oversees and advises on major plant maintenance projects, capital projects, upgrades and equipment repairs
- Prepares, reviews and approves electrical building permit and engineering drawings for new plants and plant expansions
- Reviews new capital project equipment design and selection for electrical best practice
- Develops and maintains specifications for equipment selection
- Performs power system studies and maintain a database of completed studies.
- Manages and directs contractors to perform work on plant sites
- Updates drawings as needed
- Participates in cement plant major outages
- Assists and provides support on capital improvement projects as assigned
- Assists with construction project checkout, commissioning and startup
- Provides backup to the Senior Controls Engineer for the support of plant automation systems
- Supports plants with technical advice and by diagnosing and correcting electrical problems when required
- Undertakes and completes electrical designs including supporting calculations as required
These may include (but are not limited to) load calculations, voltage drop, protective relay settings, etc. - Performs field inspections, measurements and data gathering as required
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum of five years experience in cement or related manufacturing including two or more years in Maintenance or Plant Engineering
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Will be required to travel to company facilities and other locations as needed
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently
- Must be able to work cooperatively with plant and corporate personnel
- Must be able to work at heights and in restricted spaces
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs in an industrial environment to access/inspect equipment
- Must be prepared to spend time in the plants gathering data/working on projects/providing plant electrical assistance
- Knowledge of SAP and AutoCAD is preferred
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
