Compensation

$100k - $130k 

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement electrical system upgrades for plant additions and modifications at the company's manufacturing plants
  • Provide technical training including Arc Flash safety and best practices to Plant Electricians and other technical personnel
  • Advise and/or oversee major plant-level equipment repairs, maintenance projects, system upgrades, and capital improvements
  • Prepare, review, and approve electrical engineering drawings and building permits for new plants and expansions
  • Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of Best Practice Specifications for new electrical equipment
  • Assist in ensuring Best Practice Specification adherence during the design, equipment selection, and installation of Capital Projects
  • Perform power system studies across various company facilities and maintain a database of completed studies
  • Manage and direct contractors to safely perform work on plant sites during system upgrades, maintenance, and Capital Projects
  • Update various site electrical drawings as identified and needed
  • Assist Plant Operations teams and the Corporate Engineering Team as requested during cement plant major outages
  • Support as necessary Plant and/or Corporate Engineers on capital improvement projects as assigned
  • Assist with construction, project checkout, commissioning, and startup of new equipment systems
  • Provide backup to the Senior Controls Engineer for the support of plant automation systems
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, and data gathering as required in support of new equipment installation and upgrades
  • Support plants with technical advice and by diagnosing and correcting electrical problems when requested

Education

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering 

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in cement or related manufacturing including 2 or more years in maintenance/plant engineering
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Will be required to travel to company facilities and other locations as needed
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with plant and corporate personnel
  • Must be able to work at heights and in restricted spaces
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs in an industrial environment to access/inspect equipment

Preferred:
Knowledge of SAP and AutoCAD
 

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing.
