Cement Sales Representative

Job Summary

The Cement Sales Representative is responsible for all sales and sales-related activities in the assigned territory. Related activities include customer care, monitoring market trends, forecasting, and accurate reporting.

Compensation

$100,000-$120,000 DOE 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute detailed annual business/sales for the assigned territory
  • Make regular calls and schedule face-to-face meetings with all existing and potential customers; maintain close relationships
  • Develop and deliver effective and timely proposal presentations and RFP responses
  • Track current trends in the national and local economy, and understands the impact on the local cement market
  • Provide timely reports and compile detailed competitive and industry information
  • Coordinate with Technical Services whenever technical problems occur
  • Proactively maintain open communication regarding customer requirements and expectations to appropriate plant, dispatch, quality and management personnel
  • Assist in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales and follow-up activities within assigned area
  • Attend industry-related events and share expertise and experience with other sales team members

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Requirements/Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of sales experience, preferably in the cement and/or construction materials industry
  • Ability to spontaneously discuss industry, market and product knowledge to a variety of audiences
  • Strong formal presentation, organization, analytical and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work both individually and as a team, influencing and driving decision making as appropriate
  • Clean driving record (for last five years)
  • Must be able to travel to Canada and meet all travel requirements

Preferred:

  • Experience with public entities (state, county, city governments, etc.)
  • Background in construction and/or manufacturing of construction products
  • Familiarity with ERP-SAP

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
