Compensation
Hourly, $40.00 to $45.50 DOE
Responsibilities
- Operates front-end loaders, dozers, backhoes, haul trucks, and other mobile equipment
- Loads trucks and maintains proper quantities of material to be loaded
- Follow directions of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations
- Completes visual and daily safety inspection of equipment to ensure safe operations
- Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires
- Follows established traffic patterns avoiding road hazards and other hazardous conditions
- Ensures that safety, compliance, environmental, and OSHA and MSHA requirements are always followed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education
High school diploma/GED
Requirements/Qualifications
- Experience operating heavy equipment, specifically large dozers in a mining/construction environment
- Able to operate heavy equipment while following safety procedures
- Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance
- Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels
- Must be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, and other unusual elements, such as loud noise, dirt, dust, fumes, etc.
- Able to work a flexible schedule including overtime and weekend hours as required
- MSHA training certification a plus
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
