Aggregate Plant Manager

Job Summary

.The Aggregate Plant Manager works closely with front line managers and administrative personnel in overseeing the aggregate production plant, mining operations, material load-out and overall site facilities. This position is responsible for overseeing off-road equipment, maximizing equipment utilization, ensuring customer quality requirements, and responding to emergencies. This individual will ensure compliance with state and federal safety and environmental regulations and requirements in addition to company policy

Responsibilities

  • Plans and budgets operations, meeting operational goals including facility profit goals
  • Develop employees to meet needs of both employee and the organization in current and future states
  • Further develop, maintain, and improve a deeply embedded safety and environmental compliance cultureFurther develop, maintain, and improve a deeply embedded safety and environmental compliance culture
  • Responsible for mine planning, safety, environmental matters, cost control, production, and maintenance
  • Actively advocate for the organization with the community including involvement in and support of the local surrounding communities.
  • Works with Aggregates Manager in establishing and monitoring production plan, maintaining accurate cost and inventory control; calculating and analyzing material date
  • Understands the value of quality and ensures processes/systems are in place to provide a quality product to our customers.
  • Maintains duties related to MSHA regulations including accident investigation and reporting. Safety meetings, training, etc.; actively engages with employees to lead and reinforce safe behaviors. Ensures that safety compliance and environmental requirements are followed
  • Oversees mobile equipment repair and maintenance
  • Builds and maintains working relationships with all departments to ensure work objectives are met
  • Develops & implements plans to: improve and retain customer loyalty, improved performance, recordable operating metrics and lower operating costs

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent industry experience

Requirements/Qualifications

  1. 5+ years managing aggregate &/or asphalt operations, including ancillary functions such as yard production.
  2. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with, develop and lead others at various levels
  3. Experience in all areas of crushing, screening, washing, and stockpiling to produce high-quality construction aggregates
  4. Strong mechanical aptitude and familiar with systematic engineering though process and problem solving
  5. Experience in hard rock drill and mining operations
  6. Strong analytic, communication, organizational and leadership skills
  7. Leadership, teambuilding and employee development experience & skillset
  8. Proficient with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules regulations regarding mining operations including MSHA, OSHA, WA OSHA, SMARA
  9. Proficient in MS Office Suite (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint & Word)
  10. Knowledge of SAP Enterprise Resource Planning or Equivalent (Beneficial)
  11. Experience in a vertically integrated construction material organization (preferred)
