Assistant Plant Manager

The Assistant Plant Manager will assist the Plant Manager in daily management and supervision of aggregate and asphalt processing facilities. They will help prepare operational and capital budgets, as well as monitor production, inventories, and costs. The Assistant Plant Manager will analyze operational efficiencies and recommend improvements.

Compensation
$110,000 - $115,000 annually/DOE
Responsibilities
- Assist the Plant Manager in the oversight of daily mining, aggregate processing and asphalt production; will help set-up and supervise daily crew activity in all the above operations
- Assist in the preparation and management of operational and capital budgets, as well as updating forecasts; prepare periodic reports and presentations regarding the status of operations
- Responsible for daily production reporting and inventory management
- Help assure that products meet specifications and high standards of quality
- Analyze equipment use, mining activity, and plant processes for efficiency, power/fuel utilization, and costs; initiate recommendations for improvement
- Help ensure proper equipment maintenance
- Promote a strong safety culture and help provide oversight on safe work practices, providing a safe work environment, and safety training
- Assure high environmental standards with mine-site reclamation, air emissions, water quality, and material handling
- Help ensure a high level of customer service and client satisfaction
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethic code, and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team
Education
Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or industrial engineering preferred
Requirements/Qualifications
- Excellent analytical, communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Strong math skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Software, i.e. Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Preferred:
- Previous industry exposure or experience
- Familiar with the systematic engineering thought processes and problem-solving
- SAP knowledge
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
