Quality Control Technician

Job Summary

The Quality Control Technician will assist the Quality Manager with optimizing the efficiency and productivity of plants by testing and analyzing data and working through any issues at the project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Log, inspect, and test daily aggregate and asphalt plant production  products using ASTM, AASHTO, and Caltrans-specified testing procedures.
  • Maintain regular communication with plant personnel and/or supervisor to report material acceptability and test results.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records on products, quality, and activities.
  • Assist Lab and Field QC Supervisors on duties that pertain to sampling and testing aggregates.
  • Accurately enter field and lab data reports on test data and activities into comuter.
  • Prepare laboratory trial mixes.
  • Support material delivery and customer service in the field.
  • Test and inspect concrte and asphalt mixes and make field adjustments to maintain specifications.
  • Support miscellaneous plant acrtivities as needed.
  • Promote a Zero-injury culture through personal adherence to all Company safety policies and procedures.

Education

  • High school diploma/GED

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Job requires the following motions; climbing, bending, squatting, lifting, stretching, driving, riding, vibration, twisting, pushing/pulling of controls, and riding on rough terrain. 
  • Lifting of up to 60lbs. Exposed to extremes of hot and cold weather.
  • Overtime work plus nights may be required. Able to work cooperatively with others.
  • Obtain and maintain all necessary ACI, OSHA and MSHA training certifications
  • Computer literate in Windows-based database programs and MS Office suite including Excel.
  • Math skills, including basic statistics and estimating.
  • Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated with minimal direct supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Appreciation for timely, accurate data collection and reporting.
